Why does a public charter school need to raise money? The state only provides a certain amount of funding to a charter school. State funding is an essential foundation but doesn’t allow for the level of excellence our students and families are seeking. To support the EMHS mission of preparing students for college and career excellence, the EMHS Foundation gives directly to EMHS academic and extracurricular programs.

The EMHS Foundation supports the school in its fundraising efforts. These include:

• Providing financial support for classroom materials and needs outside the regular budget

• Supporting the school’s capital and infrastructure goals in order to provide the best environment possible for student learning
